Exciting and Important News!

The Stitch Gathering Button

I have been dying to tell you about this for a while now and at last I can!

I am organising a quilt retreat in Edinburgh!

I started seriously thinking about this last year but it didn't start coming together till my workmate, Sarah, came up with the idea of a quilt exhibition at our shop during the Edinburgh Festival (to make the most of the tourists!).
So we are going to mount a Scottish Modern Quilt exhibition here at Avery Homestore during August. And as that was going to involve all my Scottish blogging buddies...

(that's these girls who came along to the Sewing Sunday I hosted last summer)
...I knew that this would be the perfect time to host a retreat too! My plan is for a smaller, cosier version of FQ Retreat, over just one day, and more accessible to everyone in Scotland and the North of England.

So that's what we are going to do! Head on over to this (very new!) webpage for more details. And if you think you might be even the tiniest bit interested you can do a 'sign-up' and we will keep you posted with more information, like who will be teaching and when tickets are released (around Mid- March).

I really hope some of my lovely readers will want to come and play in Edinburgh! Of course you don't have to be just from Scotland and the North of England, you can travel from anywhere to join us!

  4. I'd love to come as I know some of those faces (and I noticed the wine!) but it's a bit far from the Czech Republic! I'll have to enjoy it vicariously from afar!
